New Uniforms for the Sikiliza Leo Nursery Schools and the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in Primary School.
The School Uniform in Uganda is a token of recognition, a sign of belonging to the school community and respect for education. Every Childs wears the uniform with proud.
For many of the Sikiliza Leo Nursery School children and certainly for the OVC, this uniform is what they wear every day, day-in and day-out.
During our visit in May we saw that there was need for new uniforms.
Head teacher Fiona, project leader Charles and “devil-do-all” James bought the materials and engaged local tailors from Mulanda, together with OVC Youngsters to help and learn on-the-job, to make 500 new school uniforms.
In the shadow of the school building tailors and assistant tailors are working on making the school uniforms.
